TMX Operational Notice
REMINDER: TMX External Disaster Recovery Network Connectivity Test Saturday, September 14th
Please be advised that TMX will be conducting an External Disaster Recovery Network Connectivity Test on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The purpose of the connectivity test is to provide clients the opportunity to establish and confirm network connectivity to the Toronto Computing Facility (TCF) DR data center.
TMX will simulate a "disaster" at the primary data center (MCC) and failover TMX's primary trading and market data feed delivery systems to backup systems at the TCF DR site.
Clients will experience a loss of network connectivity for circuits to 3500 Steeles Avenue, Markham data center during the test. Any alerts generated should be suppressed or ignored. Network connectivity is anticipated to be restored at approximately 11:00 PM ET on Saturday, September 14th.
A notice will be sent to the street when the test is over and normal operations have resumed.
This activity is intended for clients to confirm DR site network connectivity. Clients are advised to verify using telnet to Unicast destinations (OE session; Feed Recovery Sessions). TMX does not support PING and therefore cannot be used for verification.
Other Disaster Recovery (DR) tests are scheduled as follows:
- The External Functionality Disaster Recovery (DR) test is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2024.
